@jolyonWhile attempts at negotiating with the United States continue, Iran is already making its next move. Tehran created a Persian Gulf Strait Authority, drew its own boundaries around the Strait of Hormuz, and is now in active talks with Oman over a fee system for vessel passage. One fifth of the world's seaborne oil and gas flows through that strait. Iran just put a tollbooth on it. Trump has made his position clear: no tolls on international waterways, end of discussion. Iran does not seem interested in his opinion on the matter.

The focus is on a map showing the Persian Gulf region. The map highlights the Strait of Hormuz with a red arrow. Countries such as Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Oman are labeled. The map is stylized with different colors for each country and the bodies of water. The watermark "INDIA TODAY" is visible in the corner, indicating the source of the map. The mood is informative, aimed at providing geographical context.
