A split image shows the same yellow budgie in two photos. The top frame is a small, pale-yellow chick with pink feet and a purple cere perched on patterned fabric, captioned “First photo (December 2011).” The bottom frame is a bright-yellow adult budgie with a dark cere and some gray cheek feathers perched on a person’s finger, captioned “Last photo (September 2023).” The bird’s vivid color change and the 12-year gap are the most striking details.
