@hye1nPerry Saturn didn't want the Moppy gimmick to succeed, yet it somehow got over anyway. Pat Patterson suggested Saturn marry a plunger, which evolved into a mop character because that's what he pitched. The storyline premise was that Saturn acted this way due to a head injury similar to Mike Bell's. Saturn described the role as punishment because he received no creative direction and never got any guidance on how to play it. At a Meadowlands event, Pat Patterson informed Saturn that the crowd was chanting 'Moppy' instead of 'Rocky'. Patterson used to call him Gimmick before telling him people were screaming that name instead of Rocky. Saturn noted only one official Moppy T-shirt was produced for him despite the popularity. Fans appeared wearing homemade mop costumes despite the lack of official merchandise or millions of shirts. Saturn confirmed the gimmick became popular even though he opposed its success. It was getting over, but they went to the wood chipper and made just one shirt for him to wear. If they wanted it over, they would have made more than that single item. They were showing up with homemade costumes as mops and sh*t, not millions of them, but it was happening. Believe me, I didn't want it to get over, but it was getting over.
