They are mobilized, they are engaged, and they are throwing their weight behind Joseph KABILA KABANGE and the companions he runs with in the Front for the Rebuilding of the Nation, ideology included. What they cannot let slide is the condition of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Their words for it: a degradation that is deep, that has not let up, and that alarms them, cutting across politics, security, the economy, and social life all at once. Their verdict on the TSHISEKEDI regime is blunt. Improvisation, division, corruption, and a betrayal of the founding ideals of DRC sovereignty, that is how they describe the governance, and they say it has walked the country right up to the edge of the abyss. On the other side sits Kabila, Senator for Life and Honorary President of the Republic. The foundation frames his appeal to patriotism, and the vision he carries for rebuilding the state and restoring national authority, dignity, and unity, as salvific. That is where they plant their flag.
