Eren Dinkçi returns to Bremen for Cinja

Eren Dinkçi was climbing the ladder. After turning heads at Heidenheim, he secured a move to Freiburg and looked set for a top-tier run. Then everything changed. His partner Cinja received a leukemia diagnosis, forcing a complete reset of priorities. Dinkçi chose to pause his athletic ambitions to support her. He returned to Bremen, the hometown they both share from birth. This meant leaving Freiburg to join Werder Bremen. The club operates with far more modest goals than his previous stop, but the transfer ensures he can stay by Cinja’s side throughout her treatment. Her desire was simple: go home or remain close to familiar ground. Dinkçi explained the shift clearly. "I have to leave Freiburg because Cinja's wish was to go home or be near her." The sport will always provide another chance to chase glory. Yet standing beside the one you love during their hardest moments holds a value that no contract can match. #SVWerderBremen
