The FMF has introduced a new competition model that changes Mexican football completely. Liga MX is becoming a separate circuit, meaning the First Division operates independently from the rest of the pyramid. Access to this elite level requires paying for a spot, just like Atlante did. An independent circuit named LIGAS FMF has been established to handle the lower tiers. This structure includes three main levels: the 1st FMF (Expansión League), the 2nd FMF (Premier League), and the 3rd FMF (TDP League), alongside an Amateur Sector. The Expansión League sits at the top of this alternative system. There is no promotion or relegation between the LIGAS FMF tiers and the First Division. To reach the elite, you must pay.
