Bayer Leverkusen 2023/24 squad history

Xabi Alonso guided Bayer Leverkusen through a 2023/24 season that rewrote the club's history books. That squad, which fielded 32 players across the first team and reserves, went unbeaten to claim the Bundesliga title, lift the DFB-Pokal, and reach the Europa League final. It stands as one of the best campaigns in the club's past. But two years later, the roster has thinned drastically. Only eight names from that historic group remain: Niklas Lomb, Edmond Tapsoba, Arthur, Robert Andrich, Jonas Hofmann, Nathan Tella, Victor Boniface, and Patrik Schick. Everyone else from that 2023/24 lineup has departed. To add to the shift, Xabi Alonso has also left the building. From that team that returned pride to German football, today only the memory remains. Today very little remains.
