GTA VI is officially adding a romance plot for Jason and Lucia that players can opt into or ignore entirely. The relationship builds up through downtime outside of missions rather than just during the main objectives. You have several ways to boost the bond including going shopping, hitting up beauty salons, or pulling off robberies together. Be warned though ignoring texts from your partner could actually damage the connection between them. There is also a feature where controlling one character allows you to call the other for assistance whenever needed. It seems GTA VI won't be strictly about heists since managing this relationship becomes a core part of the experience.
