Daimon Fleming Bronx bathtub deaths ruling

The prosecutor's argument that charging her with murder "would not prevent similar crimes" is the kind of logic that leaves you staring at the wall. Daimon Fleming is walking out of custody after a Bronx judge ruled her psychosis absolves her of responsibility for stabbing Daishonne, three, and Octavius, eleven months, to death in the bathtub. She'd stopped taking her meds and smoked weed daily in the lead-up. The younger boy's father still described her as "a good person." This is compassion with a body count, the dead kids reduced to a footnote so the living can be pitied. Mental illness exists, sure, but killing is still murder. Daishonne was three. Octavius was eleven months. They don't get another chance at life. Why does she? 🤔
