THE DOG STARS box office failure

Ridley Scott just hit a career low with Disney's THE DOG STARS, which opened to a global total of $19 million. Domestic numbers came in at $8 million while overseas markets contributed $11.3 million for the opening weekend. Even those estimates might be high since actual reported figures could end up lower once everything is finalized. This performance represents the director's worst box office showing ever despite some initial expectations that the decline wouldn't be this steep.
