The Odyssey box office record run

So TheOdyssey just keeps rewriting the record books. It's now the 14th biggest movie ever, having leapfrogged AvatarFireAndAsh, TopGunMaverick, and TheAvengers. And it didn't stop there, it also knocked Furious7 off its pedestal to become Universal's second biggest global hit. The overseas numbers are straight up absurd, 49.3M in its seventh weekend with only a 27.5% dip, pushing the international total to 989.4M across 82 markets. And Japan hasn't even opened yet, that's coming in SEP. Add that to the 563.9M it's made in the US, and you get a global cume of 1.55B on a 250M budget before marketing. IMAX is sticking around in several markets until the end of SEP, and with Japan still to come, that 1.7B figure that seemed like a dream two weeks ago is now basically a guarantee. The projected run is now looking at 1.75B to 1.9B. This thing is a monster.
