Yaser Asprilla Girona faith message fine

A yellow card and a 3,000 euro fine, all because YÁSER ASPRILLA lifted his Girona jersey after scoring and showed the words "GOD IS IN CONTROL." That is the whole offense. No insult was directed at anyone. Nobody was provoked. Nothing offensive appeared on that undershirt, which is a Puma top with the message written on it by hand. The Colombian just used his goal celebration as a moment to state what he believes. Rules are rules and they exist for a reason, but when a 3,000 euro penalty lands on a player for a message of faith, you have to sit with the question: did he really deserve to be sanctioned for expressing his faith? #YaserAsprilla #Puma
