Diego Placente Kiki Ramos AFA

The Argentina U-17 National Team just got a new face with Kiki Ramos, who was born in Haiti, and that arrival triggered some heavy conversation. Diego Placente weighed in on the racist remarks surfacing after the call-up, insisting the selection came down to pure football ability rather than filling a quota for black players. He put it bluntly: 'He is there because he is good, not because there have been few black players in the National Team.' The former player also pushed back against accusations of racism entirely, framing the behavior as cultural instead. His exact words were: 'For me, the Argentine is not racist, but rather it is something cultural. It has nothing wrong with it.' On top of that, Placente noted the squad uses Ramos's nickname specifically to help him integrate into the group. These comments didn't land quietly; they sparked immediate debate across social media platforms.
