Lakers Buddy Hield trade discussion

League sources speaking to Brett Siegel indicate the Lakers dug into consolidation trades this offseason, both initiating calls and fielding inquiries from other franchises. The player who kept surfacing across those multiple deal scenarios was sharpshooter Buddy Hield, whose recent trajectory took him from the Atlanta Hawks to the Charlotte Hornets and then over to the Chicago Bulls. Reports indicate a two-for-one move could have brought Hield to Los Angeles, yet the organization ultimately elected against executing that specific deal involving him. Exact reasoning behind the decision remains undisclosed, though logic suggests including a second-round pick might have been required to successfully move two contracts simultaneously. This situation plays out alongside roster crunches facing multiple NBA teams including the Lakers, Mavericks, and Hornets. A possible consolidation trade is something the Lakers have looked at quite a bit this offseason, both reaching out to teams and having teams reach out to them about the possibility of a deal, league sources told. One player that stood out in multiple deals due to the trades he was involved in was sharpshooter Buddy Hield, who was recently moved from the Atlanta Hawks to the Charlotte Hornets and then to the Chicago Bulls. Sources say the Lakers could've made a "2-for-1 move" to trade for Hield, but the organization ultimately elected against doing so. .com/nba/nba-stories/teams-face-nba-training-camp-roster-cru… #BuddyHield
