Kocha Agasawa on Polar Opposites ending

Learning to stand on your own two feet mattered more to Kocha Agasawa than whether her leads stayed a couple, and that reasoning is why You and I Are Polar Opposites never takes the usual time skip to a wedding. The manga's creator said she would have been fine with her main characters ending up separate, so long as each of them had figured out how to be happy independently. A codependent relationship, in her view, is not a genuine happy ending. So the focus went to the characters' personal growth instead of a ceremony, and honestly that choice says a lot about what she thinks a real ending looks like
