Qatar peace plan rejected by Iran

Iranian officials aren't treating what Qatar brought to Tehran as an offer at all. Their description of it: "unacceptable ideas and not an offer." The framework itself sets a seven-day span for Iran and the U.S. to make early moves toward peace, and a reply from Tehran is due before the week closes. Where it snags: Washington wants the nuclear file addressed first. Iran wants its ports reopened and oil sanctions removed before sitting down to anything else. A senior Iranian official said there's no room to bend on the nuclear question. Oil is already above $115/barrel after Houthi strikes hit Saudi Arabia's largest refinery, so the economic side isn't waiting on the diplomacy. A deal that had been in place came apart in June, and Qatar is now trying to put another one together. Getting both governments to yes is still a hard ask.
