Sam Altman on RAM centralization

Actually, hoarding your own chunk of DRAM is a terrible global allocation strategy. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman argues that keeping this limited supply distributed across personal computers is inefficient waste. Instead, he says all that memory should live centralized in data centers where it can actually be used properly. From a global allocation perspective, having everyone have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer is just bad math.
