    Natalia Filgueiras Learjet crash Florida

A recording of the communications with air traffic controllers captured a desperate plea for help before the Learjet went down in Florida. The voice on that audio belonged to Natalia Gadelha Filgueiras, confirmed by her mother Camila and stepfather to The Post as the second pilot. She was 20 years old, and her pilot license had been earned during her high school years. The flight itself was a Learjet 60 that departed from Austin, Texas, bound for the Bahamas. On Sunday afternoon, the aircraft went into a steep dive, dropping at a rate of more than 20,000 feet per minute, and it struck the ground in Palm Beach County. The rate of that descent is the number that stays with you. A 20-year-old who got licensed while still in school ended up in that cockpit, and the last thing anyone heard was her asking for help. The family coming forward to name her answers the question of who the second pilot was, but it doesn't make the audio any easier to think about.
