Fernando Redondo on Passarella and Argentina

Fernando Redondo says his international career with Argentina felt unfinished because he couldn't play more, and he pins that barrier squarely on Passarella. The core of the conflict wasn't just about tactics but a specific demand regarding hair. Redondo asks if a football player actually needs to style their hair a certain way to represent the team. He admits discipline, responsibility, and a neat image matter, yet he insists he wears his hair as he chooses. There was simply no basis for Passarella's request, and Redondo made sure to tell him he didn't share that view. Once someone lies publicly like that, you can no longer work with them. Over time, Redondo speculated maybe Passarella acted out of obligation or preferred another type of player in his position. At the same time, there was pressure to call him, so the hair issue became an excuse knowing Redondo would never cut it. This is how public lying ended their ability to work together. #FernandoRedondo #DanielPassarella
