Do you make your teens check in before heading out?

We've got two teens who are with us half the time. The 15 year old will just walk out the door for a walk without a word. The younger one always says something first. With the older one I honestly don't know if she's circling the block, heading to the shopping center, or meeting up with friends.

Apparently mom doesn't require a heads up when she leaves, but we've asked her to tell us anyway. Should we be enforcing this at 15?

Exactly. 'Around the block' is basically code for 'I'm disappearing for hours and you won't know until I get back.'

she probably just walks to the park and sits on a bench staring at pigeons for an hour

same here, but it gets messy when one house says 'text me' and the other says 'don't bother'
