In 1903, the Nobel Prize in Physics recognized pioneering work on radiation, conducted by Marie Skłodowska Curie, Pierre Curie, and Henri Becquerel. However, Marie Skłodowska Curie's name was left out of the initial nomination, even though she played a key role in the research.
