This is Kenom, known as the wood of the gods, which occupies the pinnacle of luxury. Kenom is the highest category of agarwood, renowned for its exquisite oriental fragrance. It is sought after by the world's leading perfume houses, and its products exude a unique aroma. This tree is found in limited regions of Southeast Asia. The peculiarity of kinam is that not every agarwood tree becomes this elite material. The value is acquired only when the trunk is infected with a special type of mold. In response to the infection, the tree begins to produce a protective resin, which gradually permeates the wood, creating a unique dense structure. It is this resin that becomes the source of a complex aroma, which combines notes of fruit, vanilla, musk, amber, and wood resins. The maturation process can take decades, which explains the exorbitant cost of kinome.
