Workers at Amazon's Las Vegas facility VGT3 reportedly slice book spines to scan pages faster for AI training. A 404 Media investigation tracked roughly 1,000 rare books there; the physical originals do not survive. The site uses a dinosaur clutching a book logo. Amazon stated it purchases books through commercial channels to improve its products.
