Matic home robot launch

    di Not A Charm: Tech

Two former Google Nest engineers spent nine years and built 11 prototypes before shipping Matic, a home cleaning robot funded by their entire life savings. Made in California, this high-end vacuum and mop swaps the spinning lidar disc for cameras and AI. It runs at 55 dB with all processing happening locally to keep privacy intact. The device listens to voice commands and reads hand gestures across 70 languages. As a co-founder put it, people don't want robots, they want solutions.
