Punisher once carried a dying Spider-Man while demanding a medic. Captain America's entire underground resistance was completely shocked, and nobody understood why Frank Castle was protecting Spider-Man. Because days earlier, Spider-Man finally realized the terrible truth. Iron Man never wanted to protect people. He wanted to control. Therefore, he confronted Iron Man directly and told him he was done. He was leaving the Avengers. Tony didn't take it well. Spider-Man broke through Stark Tower's glass and vanished into the city. Before Iron Man could catch him, Jester and Jack-O-Lantern found Peter first, and they didn't hold back. Spider-Man was beaten so badly he could barely move, until someone else stepped out of the shadows. The Punisher had been watching the whole time. Without saying a word, Frank killed them both. Then he carried Spider-Man's broken body straight to Captain America's secret base. But the resistance was shock. Nobody trusted Punisher. But Captain America allowed him to stay, because the war against Iron Man was getting worse every day. Then things exploded again when two villains showed up, offering to help Captain America fight Iron Man. But before anyone could answer, Punisher instantly shot them dead. The entire room froze. Captain America completely lost control. He charged at Frank and started punching him again and again with pure rage, demanding that he fight back. But Punisher never raised his fist. He just stood there, taking every hit without defending himself. Everyone was confused until Frank finally revealed the reason. Years ago, Captain America inspired him to join the army. To Frank Castle, Steve Rogers was never just another man. He was the hero who gave his life meaning. And no matter how hard Captain America hit him, Punisher could never bring himself to strike his hero back.
