Democrats historic firsts midterms
Wait you think the Senate's never seen an openly gay man or a Muslim before? Both firsts landed in the same night, plus a Native American woman taking a governor's seat for the first time. New Hampshire sent Chris Pappas over former Senator John E. Sununu. Michigan went to Abdul El-Sayed against Mike Rogers, and that came after Trump called him a 'jihadist'. Deb Haaland, previously Interior Secretary, beat Gregg Hull in New Mexico. Georgia's governor race went to Keisha Lance Bottoms, the first Black woman to win a governorship anywhere. Specific night for Democrats, and Republicans had to sit there and watch it.
