Tarayummy

Tarayummy — born Tara Mirshokraei on July 31, 2000, in Maryland — is a first-generation Iranian-American creator famous for comedic vlogs and her unscripted interview series STUCK IN A CAR (FamousNamesPedia, YouTube). From 2019 to August 2023 she was half of a beloved creator couple with YouTuber Jake Webber (FamousNamesPedia); since the split she has rebuilt as a solo act, added touring DJ sets, and signed with WME (TheWrap).[modifica]

Tara Mirshokraei was born July 31, 2000, in Maryland to first-generation Iranian immigrant parents, and grew up an only child (FamousNamesPedia, Orange Marigolds). She has described the household as strict and traditional — the raw material of her comedy. She posted her first Instagram photo in July 2017 and launched the YouTube channel in 2019 with vlogs and storytimes (Instagram, YouTube). Parental names previously on this page come only from weak sources and are dropped.[modifica]

2019: YouTube launch; relationship with Jake Webber begins and the couple audience builds (FamousNamesPedia). STUCK IN A CAR becomes the flagship — loose, funny, front-seat interviews (YouTube). August/September 2023: the joint breakup video "Jake and Tara: Break Up" ends the couple era on friendly terms (Horizon Legends). 2026: touring DJ sets (San Francisco, February 13), a WME signing exclusive in TheWrap, and a Coachella appearance in April (TheWrap, TikTok).[modifica]

Relatable chaos with Persian-daughter punchlines: rants, storytimes and passenger-seat therapy sessions (YouTube). TheWrap's WME exclusive frames the 2026 pivot — Y2K style, quick wit, traditional entertainment next (TheWrap). The breakup era played as growth content, not tragedy, and the audience stayed for the solo act.[modifica]
