    Panoramica

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spins off from the mothership series to follow Norman Reedus's grizzled survivor on a solo journey across an ocean. Created by David Zabel for AMC, the show strands Daryl in France with no memory of how he got there, forcing him to navigate a crumbling European landscape overrun by walkers. Reedus anchors the series alongside Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, who appears in later seasons, with a supporting cast including Eduardo Noriega as Antonio and Óscar Jaenada as Federico. Premiering in September 2023, the show has run for three seasons totaling 19 episodes, earning a solid 8/10 rating from viewers. It blends sci-fi horror with action and drama, maintaining the franchise's grim tone while introducing fresh zombie variants and a messianic child character, Laurent. Critics praised the change of scenery and Reedus's performance, though some found the pacing uneven. The series is rated TV-MA and concluded with its third season in October 2025.

After the original series concluded, Daryl Dixon found himself adrift in a lifeboat on the Atlantic Ocean with no memory of his departure. He washed ashore on the coast of southern France, a stranger in a land where he could not speak the language and where the apocalypse had evolved differently. A group of nuns from the Union of Hope discovered him, led by Isabelle Carrière, a former thief who found faith after the outbreak. She guarded Laurent, a young boy the nuns believed was the future messiah. The nuns saw Daryl as the prophesied protector who must deliver Laurent to a sanctuary called the Nest in Paris. In exchange for help returning to America, Daryl reluctantly agreed to escort them across France.

The journey pitted them against Pouvoir, a violent autocratic movement led by Genet that opposed the Union of Hope. Daryl fought through unique Walker variants, including acid-spitting burners that could melt flesh, and encountered provincial violence across the French countryside. Season 1 established the central dynamic of a hardened survivor escorting a special child through an apocalyptic wasteland, ending on a cliffhanger. Season 2, subtitled The Book of Carol, brought Melissa McBride's Carol Peletier into the story. Back in America, Carol searched for Daryl, confronting old trauma and enlisting a new ally under false pretenses. In France, Daryl struggled with his decision to stay at the Nest, while Genet's movement gained momentum, setting up a collision course with the religious order. Season 3 followed Daryl and Carol as they tried to return home, their path taking them through distant lands with ever-changing conditions, witnessing the varied effects of the Walker apocalypse across Europe.

    Consenso Critico

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon breathes new life into the franchise by transplanting its grizzled hero to a visually stunning French landscape, offering fresh zombie variants and a compelling messianic storyline. While the show's pacing can be uneven and its premise echoes The Last of Us, Norman Reedus's performance and the European setting provide enough novelty to justify the spin-off. Critics praised the atmospheric cinematography and world-building, though some found the villains underwhelming and the religious themes heavy-handed.
